Electric Assist Bicycles Are Here!
Thanks to federal funding received by the Cities of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa as well as private philanthropy Bublr will be adding nearly 400 electric assist bicycles into the Bublr system over the next few months. 100 e bikes are already out in the system with the rest rolling out as fast as we can build them! Electric bikes will allow more ages and abilities to ride further and more often! Bublr is so excited about this exciting addition to the system and grateful to our partners for providing funding to make it happen!
EPA Environmental Justice Grant
Bublr is extremely excited to announce the receipt of an EPA Environmental Justice Grant! This grant will allow Bublr to host Savvy Cycling Classes throughout Milwaukee. These classes are all co-hosted by incredible community partners with the goal of getting more people on Bublr! You can learn more and register for classes below!

Healthy County Challenge
You've possibly heard of County Executive David Crowley's Healthy County Initiative
. Well on April 30th at 10am the Healthy County team will be meeting at South Shore Park and taking a bike ride to Grant Park and back. Seeing as how Bublr has a relatively new station at South Shore Park, joining the ride on a Bublr would be a perfect opportunity to get out on a Saturday morning for some fresh air and a ride on the Oak Leaf Trail. Since the trip might take more than an hour you can get 50% off a 24 Hour Pass with promo code: 4302022
Bublr's Executive Director, James Davies Speaking at the Shared Use Mobility Center Conference

The Share-Use Mobility Center is a nonprofit public interest organization working to replace car-centric transportation with people-focused shared mobility to fight climate change, promote equity, and strength community. The theme of this year's conference is: All Together Now: Collective Action for Shared Mobility. The focus is on coming together to bridge gaps, lay the groundwork for partnerships, share technologies and collectively begin to the steps to fight climate change, promote equity, and strengthen community with people-focused mobility. Conveniently the conference is in Chicago an easy Amtrak ride away! You can learn more and register here.
Federal Register: New Car Assessment
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Department of Transportation (DOT) is accepting comments on its New Car Assessment Program through May 9th. The program provides star ratings for crash protection and rollover resistance, and recommends particular advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technologies and identifies the vehicles in the marketplace that offer the systems that pass New Car Assessment Program performance test criteria for those systems. Although the ADAS technologies include increased crash avoidance measures it is noteworthy that the crash protection rating still ignores what happens to people outside the vehicle. This is particularly important to Bublr and other bike riders since SUVs and trucks are 50% more likely to kill cyclists and pedestrians in a crash as compared to cars. You can submit a comment to the NHTSA asking that the Crash Protection rating program include the impact to people outside the vehicle and not just the occupants here:
