The Bublr Network is Growing

We are thrilled to announce 35 proposed station locations to be added to our existing 11-station network, bumping us up to nearly 50 stations in the network by mid-2016.

In a joint meeting with the City of Milwaukee and UWM, we released 35 specific stations for public comment. These proposed new locations include at least 15 scheduled for installation within the next 10 weeks.

A map of detailed station locations can be found by clicking on the map below.

We will update the map as locations are modified and finalized. Don’t see a station near you? Suggest a location for consideration as we further expand the network.

We know that to make Bublr Bikes a successful and useful bike share network, we need to be near you and where you want to go. Bike share doesn’t work well if station density is not present. Ideally, stations should be placed within ¼ to ½ mile from each other to ensure riders can easily walk to the stations.

Funding for identified stations comes from a $1.6 million federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) grant secured by the City of Milwaukee and nearly $2 million raised privately by Bublr Bikes. The six University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee stations are being funded by $300,000 investment from student segregated fees. This funding was approved by UWM’s student senate to provide an easy travel option for the school’s more than 28,000 students.

The Bublr Bikes system is a public-private partnership between the City of Milwaukee and Bublr Bikes, with additional support from many other public and private partners, including UWM. The City of Milwaukee and Bublr Bikes are working actively with the City of Wauwatosa, West Allis and the Village of Shorewood to expand the network regionally.
